Cadbury Unveils Magical Color-Changing Dairy Milk Chocolates for Summer

As if the news that White Chocolate Maltesers were not sufficient to satisfy true chocolate enthusiasts. Cadbury Has just unveiled an entirely new delight.

The chocolate Giant is set to release an Iced Latte Dairy Milk Chocolate Bar, blending creamy textures. coffee Cream, bits of biscuits, and the iconic flavor of Cadbury chocolate.

However, what makes this new product particularly intriguing isn't the flavors – it's the packaging.

This happens because the chocolate bar is enclosed in a temperature-sensitive pouch that changes appearance when cooled down.

Indeed, quite surprisingly, Cadbury is now promoting the idea of storing their chocolate bars in the refrigerator.

What makes this contentious? It’s because the candy company had earlier stated that their chocolates should not be kept there.

A Cadbury representative posted on X (previously known as Twitter) stating that keeping chocolate in the refrigerator could 'affect the quality'.

They explained: ‘Chocolate should always be stored in a slightly cool, dry, dark place such as cupboard or pantry at temperatures less than 21°C to ensure the quality isn’t compromised.’

It’s the first time Cadbury has introduced such a product, following research indicating that 67% of British people are interested in trying chilled chocolate.

So to entice people to give it a go, the new cold-activated packs will look like ordinary purple Dairy Milk bars – until they are popped in the fridge. Using thermochromic technology, the temperature change will reveal one of four vibrant summer-themed designs as the wrapper changes colour to reveal a deep blue image.

Alongside their new iced-coffee flavoured chocolate bar, Cadbury plans to introduce temperature-sensitive packaging for standard Dairy Milk chocolates. This means that besides the limited-edition release, customers can look forward to four special editions under what they’re branding as the 'Cadbury Dairy Milk Chilled' line.

Mara Popa, the brand manager at Mondelez (the company behind Cadbury), remarks: “We are aware that more than half of the country already keeps their chocolate cool, and we're prepared to fully engage in this discussion!”

'Our special edition Cadbury Dairy Milk Summer bars come with revolutionary color-change packaging, highlighting the enjoyable and distinctive manners in which people savor their chocolate.'

She states: 'The exclusive packaging showcases the trendy chill factor of chocolate delectably; hence, irrespective of whether you belong to team fridge or team cupboard, the decision rests with you!'

The latest collection will hit shelves at key outlets across the country starting June 2025. Each bar carries a recommended retail price of £2; however, this could differ as shops might choose to set varying prices.
